Thank you for volunteering for
the 2008 Annual NBTA Convention and Exposition in Los Angeles on July 27th
– 30th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
NBTA has scheduled a
volunteer orientation on Friday, July 25th from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30
p.m. at the registration area in the South Hall Lobby. Maps and
instructions will be handed out then. Parking for the orientation will be at
your own cost.

NBTA will make every attempt to
have your badge available for pick up at the volunteer orientation. In the
event that they are unable to complete this prior to the meeting, you will be
able to print your volunteer badge at the self registration counter beginning
Saturday, July 26th at 7:00 a.m. Please pick up your ribbon at that
time as well. Please be aware that you will need to have your convention
badge with you to attend any NBTA associated event.
As a volunteer, you are
entitled to the following benefits:

Participate in the opening reception on Sunday, July 27th and the
closing reception on Wednesday, July 30th.

Educational sessions and the general session lunch or breakfast on the day you
volunteer. If you volunteer on a day when neither is taking place, Saturday,
July 26th, or Sunday, July 27th, you may choose another
day to attend.

Direct volunteers will also be able to attend the trade show on the day you
volunteer. Should you volunteer on day/s when the trade show is not open, you
may choose another day to attend. Allied volunteers must be paid registrants
for the convention to attend the trade show.

Transportation will be
available from the downtown hotels to Pacific Palms.

July 24, 2008. Should you prefer to drive to the venue, please be aware
that the volunteer call time is 6:15 a.m., outside the clubhouse adjacent to
the parking lot

If you have volunteered for the
opening ceremony, please note that the volunteer call time is at 5:00
p.m. The opening festivities will be taking place at L.A. Live and the
NOKIA Theatre. We will meet next to the DJ stand on 11th St. There
will be no secure areas to leave personal items; we ask that you plan
accordingly.
All other volunteers who will
be working at the convention center must show up at the volunteer room 15
minutes prior to the start of your scheduled shift. If you are interested
in monitoring a specific education session, please be prepared to show up
earlier. No “reservations” for specific education session/s will be accepted;
assignments will be given out on a first come, first served basis. The
volunteer room will be located in the South Hall in room 501A. There will
be an office coordinator to answer your questions at all times. For your
convenience, snacks and beverages will be served at the volunteer room. The
phone number to the volunteer room is 213-743-6246. Someone will be able to
answer your questions onsite from Saturday, July 26th – Wednesday,
July 30th from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
If you have not been assigned a
specific shift and your name appears on the wait list, please check in at the
volunteer room to confirm your availability for the day/s your name appears on
the list. You may do so beginning Saturday, July 26th at 7:00 a.m.
We will also need to verify that the mobile number you provided is current.
